The community of Ashland, Virginia is reeling after a deadly shooting on South Hill Carter Parkway left two men dead and led to the arrest of Unique White, a 28-year-old man from Bowling Green. Authorities confirmed the incident as a double homicide, and White has been charged in connection with the fatal April 15, 2026 shooting that has shaken the small town.

According to Ashland Police, officers and Hanover County deputies responded to reports of gunfire and a fight at approximately 7:16 p.m. in the 100 block of South Hill Carter Parkway. When emergency crews arrived, they found two adult male victims suffering from gunshot wounds. Despite lifesaving efforts, both victims were pronounced dead at the scene. White was taken into custody nearby without incident.
